Izzy would have liked to spend the spring break with her new boyfriend Luke and her best friend Miranda, but unfortunately her parents forced her to leave with them for a cruise to Bermuda. Aware that this will be one of the most boring holidays of her life, Izzy will be forced to change her mind. The first day on the ship he will in fact make the acquaintance of Jade, a bubbly and exuberant girl with whom he will immediately make friends. But a few days after departure, something unexpected happens. In fact, Jade suddenly disappears into thin air without leaving any trace, and although the chances that hers is a case of voluntary removal or worse of suicide are high, for Izzy something is not right. While no one wants to give credit to her words and feelings, Izzy has no intention of giving up, and will do everything in her power to find the truth and find out what really happened to her friend.
I found this reading really enjoyable and very fluent, so much so that I finished it within a few hours. The mystery that is the background to this book managed from the first moment to intrigue me without ever getting bored. The interest and suspense in the reader will grow page after page until the breathtaking epilogue. The protagonist Izzy is an interesting and well characterized character. In the course of this reading I almost had the feeling of being transported to the cruise ship and being able to collaborate with her in her investigation, transforming myself into a modern Nancy Drew on the hunt for clues and evidence.
Obviously this is just my dispassionate opinion but I think this book could very well be turned into a Netflix TV series.
I can only pass "Girl overboard" with flying colors, a Young Adult mystery perfect for those looking for a light and intriguing book at the right point.
